Tierra Proyecto is a community-led regenerative agriculture collective based in Tuzantán, Chiapas, Mexico, in the cacao region of Soconusco. Formed by four families, the project focuses on restoring degraded land through syntropic agroforestry, permaculture, and ecological land management while producing healthy food and creating resilient rural livelihoods. Over the past three years, we have rehabilitated an old cacao farm by restoring infrastructure, building with natural techniques, and establishing diversified agroforestry systems with cacao, native trees, fruit trees, and food crops. Tierra Proyecto also functions as a living classroom where apprentices, volunteers, and local producers can learn hands-on regenerative agriculture practices. Alongside the project, we are developing RegTierra, an initiative focused on the future commercialization of products from these regenerative agroforestry systems.

Proyecto Concentrarte A.C. is a women-led, community-based organization that creates safe and participatory spaces where people can access practical and theoretical tools to strengthen their wellbeing and resilience. We work alongside marginalized, predominantly Indigenous communities to promote social, environmental, economic, and cultural sustainability through participatory and locally driven approaches. Our programmes, primarily implemented in Chiapas and other vulnerable regions of Mexico, include community gardens that strengthen food sovereignty, environmental education, climate resilience, and the promotion of renewable energy through autonomous photovoltaic systems. Across all our work, we prioritize gender equality, community leadership, and long-term sustainability, supporting communities to develop locally owned solutions to the challenges they face.
