By planting and protecting mangroves, coral reefs, kelp forests, seagrass meadows, and coastal watersheds, Seatrees restores the ecosystems that sustain marine life and stabilize our climate. Based in the US, Seatrees partners with community groups across the globe, backing more than 30 projects that protect critical habitat for countless species while strengthening the livelihoods of the people who call these coastlines home. Rather than starting from scratch, Seatrees invests in what's already working - providing funding, storytelling, scientific expertise, and project management support to grassroots initiatives already leading the charge on the front lines of ocean restoration. Every dollar counts: 100% of profits go directly toward protecting and restoring coastal ecosystems, powering real, lasting change for our planet's blue frontier.

Restoring Kenya's Mangrove Forests, One Tree at a Time
Along Kenya's northern coast, the mangrove forests of Marereni are a lifeline. They nurse fish and crustaceans, store massive amounts of carbon, shield shorelines from erosion, and support fishing communities across Kilifi County. But decades of illegal logging, poverty, and climate pressures have pushed these forests to the brink, threatening both wildlife and the people who depend on them.
Since 2022, Seatrees has partnered with COBEC, a Kenyan nonprofit rooted in the local community, to change that. Together, we've planted over one million mangrove trees, while creating real jobs for local residents who run nurseries, plant seedlings, monitor growth, and patrol the forest.
But planting trees isn't enough on its own. Community surveys revealed the real drivers of deforestation: food insecurity, unemployment, and lack of opportunity. So the project grew to tackle these root causes too - through education, forest patrols, restoring natural water flow, and creating alternative livelihoods.
The results speak for themselves:
🌱 1,200+ hectares of mangrove forest now protected by community scouts
🌊 Tidal flow restored to areas long damaged by stagnant, hypersaline water
💚 90% of tree planters say restoration has improved their quality of life
🐟 91% report seeing real environmental improvements in their community
