Nirvana Carbon Foundation

Nirvana Carbon Foundation is a youth-centered climate and livelihoods organization dedicated to empowering farming communities across eastern India. Our mission is to change how agricultural waste is managed, transforming an environmental hazard into a powerful asset for rural survival. We replace open field burning with a decentralized model that trains local artisans to convert crop residues into biochar and reapply it to revitalize depleted soils. Our vision is a community-owned entrepreneurial economy where ecological healing drives immediate economic relief. Farmers, landless laborers, youth, and women and youth work as skilled Artisans and field managers. By treating waste as a resource, we build financially sustainable, year-round livelihoods while securing cleaner air and healthy soil.
