Collective funding for regeneration

Grassroots

Across the planet, grassroots communities are leading their own regeneration: restoring land, protecting watersheds and tending ecosystems. Yet, an estimated $1 trillion per year nature funding gap prevents communities from accessing the resources they need. Ma Earth exists to change that.

Platform

Ma Earth is a collective funding platform, purpose-built for community-led regeneration. Our third round will direct $500,000 in matching funds to more than 100 grassroots projects worldwide. Prior to this, our community distributed over $400,000 to more than 50 projects through two pilot rounds on Gitcoin.

Certified

Data should serve communities, not platforms. Certified makes this possible through an identity layer. Your profile, reputation, and work belong to you and travel with you across platforms, building a funding ecosystem on transparency, trust, and verifiable impact.

Offerings

Through Ma Earth Studio, we provide educational resources for land stewards, funders, and regenerators. Offerings span workshops on traditional knowledge practices from farmers and land stewards to conversations with leading voices across philanthropy and open source technology.

Origins

Ma Earth grew out of direct experience with land. Much of our learning is rooted in Mangaroa Farms, a living laboratory for regenerative agriculture and community resilience. Through Biome Trust, a philanthropic foundation, we've also sat on the funding side and experienced the challenges involved in resource allocation that’s built on trust and verification.

Structure

Ma Earth Foundation is a tax-exempt foundation in Zug, Switzerland. Our purpose is to advance environmental regeneration, education, and public health. The foundation wholly owns Ma Earth Labs AG, which operates the technology platform. The platform is developed in partnership with Hypercerts Foundation and open digital infrastructure.

Vision

Ma Earth is an invitation to collective stewardship. Small acts of care, multiplied across communities, have the power to shift the whole. Together, we can help regeneration take root everywhere.
