TechCycle is an agile, software-driven enterprise providing enterprise-grade compliance infrastructure through a cloud-based Traceability Intelligence Platform. Operating under a lean, hardware-agnostic Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) framework, TechCycle functions as the digital "Brain" for modern fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturers. The platform delivers unassailable supply chain transparency, automated compliance reporting, and verified tracking mechanisms to address Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) mandates and sustainability requirements.

Project story

Project Description: TechCycle Traceability Intelligence Platform

The Project

TechCycle is a cloud-based Traceability Intelligence Platform engineered to solve the data integrity and regulatory tracking crisis in circular supply chains. Operating under a lean, software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, TechCycle functions as a hardware-agnostic platform—the digital "Brain"—that integrates directly into existing high-speed industrial bottling lines. By leveraging the physical marking hardware (the "Pen") already used or chosen by the manufacturer, TechCycle eliminates capital expenditure requirements, deploying zero-CapEx compliance infrastructure seamlessly into fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) ecosystems.

The platform utilizes a proprietary iQR code layout with an embedded GS1 Digital Link URL following global SGTIN-96 standards. Every single bottle receives a unique, serialized digital identity printed directly onto its cap, engineered with a 20% surface damage tolerance to withstand harsh tropical field conditions.

When a bottle moves through the recovery network, field agents utilize a dedicated mobile application embedded with a custom camera SDK to execute an Economic Proof of Recovery (EPoR) scan. This action appends a secure entry logging:

  • The bottle’s unique standard GS1 ID

  • A precise scan timestamp

  • Verified collection point GPS coordinates

  • The verified field agent's ID

  • A cryptographic hash of the previous event in that bottle's lifecycle

This tamper-proof data architecture converts raw material lifecycles into highly structured, audit-ready data assets. The resulting chain-of-custody log can be queried instantly via a single SQL execution, providing FMCG brands with automated, bulletproof reports to satisfy strict Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations and corporate sustainability audits.

The Ecosystem

TechCycle operates at the critical intersection of industrial manufacturing, local informal waste management networks, and global sustainability compliance markets.

Our primary operational launchpad is centered in Mauritius, a strategic island ecosystem directly confronting the limits of plastic waste management and strict environmental regulations. In this market, TechCycle acts as the data conduit linking key stakeholders:

  • Enterprise Manufacturers (The Producers): Partnering initially with regional beverage giants, the platform integrates into standard production frameworks to protect brands from regulatory liabilities while helping them transition confidently from virgin petroleum resins to Recycled PET (rPET).

  • The Informal Waste Sector (The Frontline Recovery Network): TechCycle builds localized, tech-enabled collection infrastructure. By using the mobile application to log EPoR events, the system provides transparent metrics that de-risk and formalize local collection networks, validating agent activity to secure direct digital disbursements.

  • Compliance Regulators & Sustainability Buyers (The Data Consumers): The platform serves environmental enforcement agencies by providing fully auditable data, while simultaneously enabling global sustainability brokers to purchase verified "Circularity Subscriptions." This secondary market effectively channels green corporate capital back down to optimize local collection points.
