The Bioarca

Bioarca is a rainforest conservation project on the northern Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. Bordering Parque Corcovado along the Río Claro, our 56-hectare reserve is over 90% tropical rainforest and serves as a critical buffer between the park and surrounding human expansion. We are a small international group of land stewards seeking to cultivate the Bioarca as a living forest commons rooted in shared stewardship, ecological reciprocity, and collaboration with neighboring farmers and knowledge keepers. Together, we aim to protect one of the most biologically rich ecosystems on Earth and to learn how to live well within it.
