Oceanus Conservation

Oceanus Conservation is a women-led environmental organization based in the Philippines working to protect and regenerate coastal ecosystems through science, education, and community stewardship. Founded in 2020 by marine conservationists and local partners, Oceanus works alongside fishing communities, local governments, youth leaders, to restore mangroves and seagrass ecosystems while strengthening livelihoods and climate resilience. Our work combines citizen science, biodiversity monitoring, ocean literacy, and community-led conservation across some of the Philippines’ most vulnerable coastal areas. Beyond restoring ecosystems, we aim to rebuild relationships between people and the ocean — ensuring local communities are not only beneficiaries of conservation, but leaders of it.
