Together4trees Kenya was founded in response to the urgent need to restore degraded land, expand tree cover, and build climate resilience in communities across Kenya. Many areas have experienced deforestation, soil degradation, and reduced biodiversity, affecting livelihoods, water systems, and long-term environmental health.

Our project focuses on transforming this challenge into opportunity by restoring land through large-scale tree planting and ecosystem rehabilitation. We work closely with schools, local communities, and landowners to plant indigenous and fruit trees, ensuring that restoration is both ecologically meaningful and socially beneficial. Schools are central to our work because they provide a powerful platform to educate and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.

The funds we raise are used to establish tree nurseries, procure high-quality seedlings, support planting activities, train community members and students in tree care, and ensure long-term monitoring and survival of planted trees. A key focus is not just planting trees, but ensuring they grow and thrive through consistent care and stewardship systems.

Despite strong community interest, we face challenges such as limited resources for seedlings, maintenance costs, water availability during dry seasons, and the need for continuous engagement to ensure survival rates remain high. Scaling impact across more schools and landscapes also requires sustained funding and strong local partnerships.

With support, we aim to expand restoration efforts to more degraded areas, increase survival rates of planted trees, and build a long-term model of community-led restoration that delivers environmental, social, and economic benefits. Our vision is to restore ecosystems while empowering communities to take ownership of their environment and create lasting change for future generations.
