About

Raksa Urvi (RU-ACT) is a progressive, youth-led community organization operating at the intersection of climate action, public health, and cultural artivism. Originally incubated under the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Indonesia Incubator Programme and recognized by the UNDP Movers Academy, our organization was founded to halt environmental degradation along Indonesia's vulnerable coastlines and advocate for marginalized indigenous communities. Rather than working in isolation, Raksa Urvi serves as a strategic catalyst, orchestrating a robust coalition of over 50 local NGOs, youth groups, and community partners to scale ecological restoration efforts. The people behind Raksa Urvi are an interdisciplinary team of passionate young changemakers, researchers, and community organizers. The initiative is spearheaded by medical students, environmental scientists, and local youth leaders who bring a unique "planetary health" perspective to the climate crisis.
