Rifai Sicilia is a cultural association that regenerates the Sicilian ecology by supporting and developing the bioregional economy. We unite the regional projects and initiatives in the territory using culture and technology as tools for transformation and revaluation.

Through the re-bioregioning process we can reforest and rehydrate the landscape and restore all 8 forms of capital using both traditional ecological knowledge, and new innovative digital tools like Silvi Earth, and mutual credits commitment pools with Grassroots Economics, and crowdlending platforms like GrowFi.

We are also active members in many regenerative finance communities of practice including BioFi, ReFi DAO, and Bloom Network.

We operate a 2 hectare syntropic agroforestry demonstration site called “Butterfly Hill” as a community food forest that we have been stewarding since 2023, and we recently purchased a 1 acre forest called “Sharewood Forest” for preservation and as a community training center for reforestation and wildfire training in Trapani province. We are the first legally registered association to operate as a DAO in Italy, and the first DAO to own property in Italy as part of our bioregional land trust and Earth bank initiative. We work with partner organizations around the island and are setting up another bioregional hub in Ragusa province.
