Hearts Educators is a youth-focused nonprofit organization working in Zambia to improve the wellbeing, education, and protection of children and young people in underserved and vulnerable communities. Our work is rooted in community systems strengthening, where we support young people to access education, health information, and protection services that enable them to live safer and more empowered lives.

Our project focuses on building resilient communities through education, youth engagement, and digital innovation. We work closely with schools, community structures, and local partners to deliver training and awareness programs on child protection, sexual and reproductive health, menstrual health and hygiene, and life skills. In addition, we are developing digital solutions, including an AI-powered youth information platform, to ensure that young people can access accurate, safe, and culturally relevant guidance at any time.

In many of the communities we serve, young people face challenges such as limited access to education resources, early pregnancies, child rights violations, and weak protection systems. These challenges are often intensified in rural and low-income areas, where services are scarce and information is limited. Our work addresses these gaps by bringing services closer to communities and strengthening local capacity.

The funds from this project will be used to expand community outreach sessions, train youth facilitators, strengthen partnerships with schools and local institutions, and improve our digital knowledge systems for young people. We will also support the development of safe spaces where adolescents can learn, share experiences, and receive guidance.

A key challenge we face is the lack of structured, accessible information for young people, especially in rural areas. Another challenge is limited resources to scale our programs to reach more communities. Despite this, we continue to work through partnerships, volunteer networks, and innovative low-cost approaches.

Our long-term goal is to build empowered, informed, and resilient communities where young people are active participants in shaping their future, and where education and protection systems are accessible to all.
