Richmond Community Garden Trust

The Riverlution Eco Park in the Richmond Red Zone is a vibrant community-driven initiative uniting over 30 local organisations and groups dedicated to sustainable practices, environmental education, and community engagement in Ōtautahi. At its core are the Richmond Community Garden (RCG) and the Riverlution Hub. Established in 2014, RCG is a three-acre space featuring a food forest, native plantings, a Fungi Farm, composting areas, and rain gardens, all designed to foster sustainable urban agriculture and community spirit. The Hub, launched in 2021, enhances community involvement through clean-ups, trapping projects, and the Riverlution Precious Plastic program, alongside environmental workshops and monthly Repair Café events. The wider Riverlution Eco Park includes diverse projects like the Riverlution Café, several Avon Forest Park restoration sites, the CCC Nature Play Space, the Riverlution Tiny Village, and more.
