Michael Fields Agricultural Institute

The Michael Fields Agricultural Institute (MFAI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission in which we work alongside farmers and in community to cultivate healthy and resilient agriculture through integrated research, education, and policy. We help grower communities - urban and rural - make their best possible decisions based on current research and opportunities, supporting them with peer networks and technical assistance, with best practices that are tailored directly to their specific needs. MFAI prioritizes the identification of needs of the farmers and seeks community led solutions. working along the Lake Michigan Foodshed, and across the Midwest. Our work is strengthened by the partnerships we create in the community and with other NGOs, Land Grant Universities, Extension and community led initiatives to work in synergy with us to pursue a farm and food landscape that is equitable, accessible, and regenerative - supporting thriving natural and human communities.
