About

The Kevin Richardson Foundation protects Africa's iconic wildlife through focused lion conservation, habitat preservation, and community development. The foundation acquires and safeguards critical habitats for lions and vulnerable species while creating sustainable employment and education opportunities that empower local communities. The foundation financially aids multiple projects dedicated to wildlife protection, anti-poaching, education, and habitat restoration across Africa. With wild lion populations declining from 450,000 to between 18,000 and 23,000 over the last 80 years—primarily due to habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and illegal activities—the foundation's conservation work is increasingly urgent. Working from the KRF Wildlife Sanctuary within the greater Dinokeng region, the Foundation supports anti-poaching initiatives, conservation education programmes, habitat protection, and community engagement projects aimed at fostering long-term environmental stewardship.
