About

Our Story From Local Roots to Global Impact Vulnerable Ugandan Communities (VUC PROJECT) was founded in 2017 by CEO K Martin Oscar and Co-founder Waswa Charles — visionary leaders passionate about building local communities to the global stage. The foundation's formal setup started in 2020 during the COVID-19 epidemic, when five pioneering communities in Uganda joined the movement despite the global crisis. We seek and provide support to vulnerable communities through education, empowerment, and climate resilience as our governance. We welcome any community participating in work that creates well-being for humanity, and we work hard to make climate and nature a usual friend of rural areas — because rural Uganda sits at the center of climate vulnerability. This is why we reward economic development to communities who participate in climate and nature action. We are focused on vulnerability reduction and on discovering preventable causes of vulnerability — bringing real solutions
