Since 2003, the Crees Foundation has been safeguarding one of Earth's most biodiverse regions: Peru's Manu Biosphere Reserve. What began as a bold vision—purchasing regenerating rainforest to create a research hub—has evolved into a powerful movement spanning two decades.

Today, Crees protects over 640 hectares of pristine forest at the Manu Learning Centre, where scientists have discovered remarkable new species like the Ameerega shihuemoy frog. The organization has educated hundreds of local students and maintains one of the Amazon's most comprehensive biodiversity monitoring programs.

Yet Manu faces mounting threats: deforestation, illegal logging, mining operations, and climate change fragment habitats and devastate communities. Crees responds with innovative solutions that put local people first.

By combining rigorous science with community leadership, Crees empowers indigenous groups and local families to build sustainable livelihoods through ecotourism and regenerative farming.
