Young Warriors Club is a youth-led non-profit organization dedicated to fostering active youth participation in environmental conservation and climate action. Founded and inspired by Shanariha Evans, a passionate climate change activist and environmentalist, the organization is on a mission to create a better and more protected environment for future generations. Young Warriors Club believes that young people are powerful agents of change, and through education, advocacy, and hands-on action, they work to collectively build a sustainable world. The organization focuses on cleaning, protecting, and restoring environments through youth-led initiatives that address environmental conservation and sustainability challenges.
Project story
Young Warriors Club is a youth-led NGO founded by Shanariha Evans, a 14-year-old climate and environmental advocate from Mombasa, Kenya. Our organization was created in response to the growing environmental crisis affecting Kenya’s coastal communities. Rising sea levels, frequent flooding, coastal erosion, and coral reef bleaching are threatening ecosystems, homes, livelihoods, and the future of vulnerable families who depend on the ocean and natural resources for survival.
We believe that lasting climate solutions must be community-driven and youth-led. Through our local approach, we empower young people to become environmental stewards and active leaders in climate action. Our core programs focus on climate education and biodiversity restoration, including mangrove planting and coral reef restoration.
Over the past four years, our climate education program has reached more than 2,000 students aged 9–17, equipping them with knowledge and practical skills to protect the environment within their communities. These young leaders actively participate in restoration activities and climate awareness campaigns.
We have successfully planted over 270,000 mangroves, helping restore coastal ecosystems, prevent erosion, and strengthen climate resilience. We have also implemented a coral reef gardening program in Kilifi, contributing to marine biodiversity conservation and ocean restoration.
