About

Wildlife Conservation Action (WCA) is a local non-profit Private Voluntary Organization, dedicated to promoting human-wildlife coexistence in landscapes where humans live alongside wildlife. Our vision is ‘Local-led and community-driven human-wildlife coexistence for improved community livelihoods and thriving wildlife populations. In pursuit of this vision, WCA’s mission is to strengthen the capacity of local communities to mitigate human-wildlife conflict in a changing climate, for improved livelihoods and wildlife conservation. Our work is anchored on three strategic pillars: Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation, Landscape Restoration and Livelihoods, and Research and Conservation Leadership. The organisation is led by Dr. Moreangels Mbizah (Founder and Executing Director, and a 2026 Whitely Awards winner) who is leading a team of 18 technical staff and 44 Community Guardians. Wildlife Conservation is governed by a professional Board that provides oversight and strategic direction.
