Project story

Protecting Lebanon's Mountain Heartland

RECO (Rashaya Environmental Committee Organization) unites 22 local organizations in an urgent mission: safeguarding the breathtaking mountain ecosystems of Rashaya, Lebanon. Our region is a biodiversity hotspot—home to pristine forests, natural springs, and thriving agricultural lands—yet it's under siege from climate change, degradation, pollution, and devastating wildfires.

We're fighting back through community-driven action. Our team mobilizes residents, youth, schools, and municipalities to restore habitats, protect water sources, and rebuild environmental stewardship from the ground up.

Our vision: expand native tree planting, revitalize biodiversity-rich landscapes, and secure clean water for generations to come. But scaling these efforts requires resources we currently lack.

Your support directly funds restoration projects, ecological monitoring, community education, and long-term site maintenance. Together, we're not just replanting trees—we're rebuilding resilient ecosystems and empowering communities to become environmental stewards.

Invest in RECO and help preserve Lebanon's natural legacy while creating a healthier, more sustainable future for all.
