Nature for Mangroves is a youth-led ecosystem restoration organization focused on revitalising mangrove forests, primarily in Sierra Leone. The organization sources, finances, implements, and operates small-scale mangrove restoration projects, combining expertise in ecosystem management and community involvement. In 2023, Nature for Mangroves restored 5,000 mangrove trees in the Yarms coastal area through a youth-led replanting campaign.

Project story

Sierra Leone's mangrove forests are disappearing and with them, the livelihoods, food security, and coastal protection that countless communities depend on. But there's hope. Nature for Mangroves is fighting back. Through strategic planting, climate education, and youth engagement, we're reversing the damage and restoring what was lost. Our impact so far speaks volumes: 60,000 seedlings planted across 3,000 hectares.

Every tree we plant is more than just a restoration effort it's a lifeline for costal slum families, a shield against rising seas, and a step toward a sustainable future. By empowering young people to become environmental stewards, we're building a movement that will protect these vital ecosystems for generations to come. The mangrove forests of Sierra Leone can thrive again. With your support, we'll plant more seedlings, reach more communities, and create lasting change.
