Our Origins

It started simple: What if everyone we knew planted a tree? We'd have a forest by now. So we acted.

We reached out to our immediate circles, planted the seeds of what would become For the Future. What began as a passion project among friends exploded into something far greater. Our small circle transformed into a movement that taught us a fundamental truth: you don't need to be extraordinary to change the world. Everyone has the power to make a difference.

As more and more people showed their support and help, our project grew, and led us to where we are today. We were able to meet the communities at the forefront of restoration — our indigenous peoples: environmental frontliners who have spent their whole lives working within the environments they live in to develop their livelihoods and communities, to create a better life for the future of their youth. We realized that we weren’t just planting trees; we were empowering the true guardians of our ecosystem to have the knowledge and capacity to restore their ancestral lands.

Seven years later, our small project has evolved into a thriving non-profit. Our team of young artists, professionals, and changemakers works directly with our partner indigenous and frontline communities to co-create creative development programs that equip them with the knowledge and resources to restore their lands while building sustainable futures.

In just a few years, we've sparked youth-led impact across our country—and we're only getting started. We've learned that real change doesn't require superhuman effort; it requires community. By standing together with those fighting on the frontlines, we're proving that collective action, rooted in respect and collaboration, can transform forests and futures. We still believe in the power of community as a vessel for the change we want to see in the world.

We have turned into a project focused on empowering the people around us. And have blossomed into an organization made by and For the Future.

Fund the Forest

At the heart of our organization is the community of Sitio Yangil. They are an indigenous Aeta community stewarding over 3,000 hectares of ancestral land within a heavily resource-exploited region in the Philippines. The community faces threats of land grabbers and forest fires from nearby industries. Today, the community is at the forefront of defending and restoring their ancestral lands.

Together, we have been working to empower their community by providing projects which bring livelihood, access to basic necessities, and education to their youth while protecting and restoring their lands. Since 2022, we have restored over 130 hectares of land, with over 90, 000 trees, and are just getting started.
