Colmeia62 is a housing cooperative with community-led project located in Mafra, Portugal. The cooperative is working to grow a land based community in the village of Zambujal (between Ericeira and Mafra), where members collectively purchased land, designed ecological homes (with 100% compost toilets) and manage the project. The cooperative is built as a non-speculative common with collective ownership and aims to foster stronger community connections and a greater relationship with nature, following permaculture and regenerative agriculture principles. The organization functions with sociocratic principles such as consent decision-making process. Colmeia62 is a social project where each person contributes according with their financial means and each person receives according to their needs, provided that, the group can collectively support the financial sustainability of the project.
