Lim Nguen Foundation (LNF) is a refugee-led, IDP-led, youth-led, and community-based National Non-Governmental Organization (NNGO) based in South Sudan. Founded in 2019, LNF works to support vulnerable communities affected by conflict, displacement, climate change, poverty, disease outbreaks, and limited access to basic services. The organization was founded by young community leaders with lived experience of displacement and humanitarian challenges, driven by a commitment to create locally led and sustainable solutions for vulnerable populations. LNF focuses on humanitarian response, WASH and cholera prevention, women and girls protection, youth leadership and entrepreneurship, climate resilience, food security, climate-smart agriculture, digital inclusion, and community development initiatives. Our team is made up of passionate youth leaders, community volunteers, women leaders, humanitarian practitioners, and grassroots mobilizers who work directly with displacement-affected communi

Project story

In South Sudan's displacement-affected communities, families face mounting threats from conflict, flooding, and disease outbreaks. Yet access to healthcare and reliable health information remains critically limited. Those living in crowded IDP camps and border areas face particular vulnerability to Ebola, hampered by misinformation, overcrowding, and weak preparedness systems.

Lim Nguen Foundation (LNF)—a refugee-led, youth-powered organization—is launching a community-centered initiative to strengthen grassroots preparedness and Ebola resilience. We believe communities themselves must lead the fight against disease outbreaks.

Through community-led Risk Communication and Community Engagement, we're empowering local volunteers, youth leaders, and women's groups to become trusted voices for prevention and awareness.

Our approach includes:

  • Targeted awareness campaigns and door-to-door outreach

  • Community dialogues addressing rumors and misinformation

  • Youth volunteer training and mobilization

  • Hygiene promotion and referral awareness sessions

Funds will support outreach activities, volunteer coordination, transportation to remote areas, and protective supplies. As an organization founded by individuals with lived displacement experience, we understand what resilience truly requires: local people empowered to protect their own communities.

Together, we can equip vulnerable South Sudanese families with knowledge and tools to prevent outbreaks before they strike.
