Rebearth Cabarete is a sustainable off-grid property in the Dominican Republic featuring a developing food forest, solar system, composting facilities, and guest accommodations including tent platforms and a completed bathroom with grey water system. The organization offers immersive nature retreats and farm experiences where visitors practice yoga, learn about natural living, and harvest seasonal crops. Rebearth also hosts educational gatherings for homeschooling families where children learn about nature, agriculture, off-grid living, and animal care.

Project story

Rebearth: A Regenerative Sanctuary

The Setting

Nestled on the north coast of the Dominican Republic near La Catalina, this 6,300 m² paradise sits just 25 minutes from Cabarete yet feels worlds away. A river winds through lush greenery, and time moves differently here—slower, more intentional.

The Vision

Rebearth works with nature, not against it. Every element is designed using permaculture and biodynamic principles, prioritizing sustainability and regeneration. The goal is simple: create a thriving space where people, animals, and land flourish together.

Rooted in Experience

The founder spent four years off-grid in Portugal, living in a yurt and learning permaculture firsthand. Those hard lessons—managing water on arid land, harnessing solar energy—laid the groundwork. Now, in the Dominican Republic's abundant tropical climate, those principles expand and flourish in ways the dry Portuguese landscape never allowed.

Life Here

Imagine showering under river water, cooking outdoors, and living by solar power. Here, you can rest in hammocks, walk barefoot, harvest fresh food, and genuinely slow down. Better yet, you can actively participate—building, planting, creating—or simply experience this evolving sanctuary at your own pace.
