Explore Your Coast

Explore Your Coast is a marine restoration and engagement initiative based in Aotearoa New Zealand. We make underwater ecosystems visible and support meaningful community participation in ocean recovery. We combine citizen science, diving-based monitoring, and immersive storytelling to document coastal ecosystems and generate data that informs locally-led restoration. Alongside fieldwork, we use education, virtual reality, and public engagement to bring marine ecosystems into schools and communities, building understanding of coastal change and pathways toward restoration action across regional coastal systems.
