Growing up in rural eastern DRC and witnessing the impacts of poverty, environmental degradation, and limited opportunities, Safari founded Alphome Community Farms to build practical solutions that improve livelihoods while protecting forests.

Alphome Community Farms is a community-led nonprofit organization based in the Democratic Republic of Congo working at the intersection of agroforestry, forest restoration, climate resilience, and sustainable livelihoods. Founded to address growing environmental and economic pressures in Haut-Uele, we support farmers, women, and youth through regenerative agriculture, community forest stewardship, and environmental monitoring. Our work restores degraded landscapes threatened by mining expansion, charcoal production, uncontrolled fires, and unsustainable farming. Through our AgriGuard360 initiative, we combine community action with satellite forest monitoring and field verification to transform forest alerts into restoration efforts on the ground. We believe conservation succeeds when communities become direct beneficiaries of ecosystem protection.
