AFAN (Agroforestry Action Network) is a youth-led non-profit organisation founded in Lund, Sweden in 2025 by students and young practitioners. Created in response to the growing disconnection between communities and ecosystems, AFAN regenerates degraded public spaces through participatory agroforestry. Our objective is to transform citizens from passive observers into informed stewards of regeneration, combining ecological knowledge and community engagement through hands-on approaches. Our core strength lies in our horizontal, community-led model: open to anyone who shares our mission, regardless of background or experience, allowing people to contribute per their interests, knowledge, and capacities. Since launch, AFAN has organised workshops, participated in academic agroecology events and international knowledge exchanges. We reach for the high-hanging fruits, from the trees we plant, for the generations to come.
