The Learning Environment

The Learning Environment is a place-based community-led organisation working at the intersection of learning, wellbeing, and ecology. We are based at Pīwaiwaka Farm, a 178acre regenerating farm-forest meets living campus on the banks of the Whanganui River, Aotearoa New Zealand. This work exists to nurture a different way of learning, living, and relating that is grounded in place, shaped by community, and responsive to the interconnected challenges of our time. We offer hands-on courses, holistic health practices, a native plant nursery, food gardens, orchards, and ecological services. Our community volunteers and learners grow trees, restore forests, build relationships and experience healing through connection with the land. We produce abundant spray-free food for volunteers, learners and the wider community.
