Small Mammal Conservation Organization

Small Mammal Conservation Organization (SMACON) seeks to protect at-risk small mammals in West Africa through scalable evidence-based conservation solutions that rely on socio-ecological research and the strengthened capacity of in-country practitioners. The organization documents species in biodiversity hotspots across West Africa and the Gulf of Guinea Islands, while conserving bats and other small mammals across West Africa by evidence-based intervention, community engagement, and training the next generation of in-country conservationists.
