Reserva Managua
Colombia
Community GroupAbout
Reserva Managua is an independent conservation and cultural initiative founded by Melissa Palacio, a Colombian artist, researcher, and environmental advocate based in Berlin, Germany. With a background in Physical Engineering and an MFA in Media Art and Design from Bauhaus University Weimar, I develop interdisciplinary projects that bridge art, science, technology, and ecology to foster environmental awareness and collective action.
At the heart of the initiative is Reserva Managua, a privately protected cloud forest reserve in Colombia that safeguards biodiversity and vital water sources. The reserve serves as a living laboratory where art, science, environmental education, and community participation come together to support conservation. Through creative experiences, citizen science, and community engagement, we seek to inspire new ways of caring for forests, water ecosystems, and the interconnected web of life.
