Rebound Institute

The Rebound Institute believes people reentering society after incarceration deserve coordinated support, not the burden of navigating complex systems alone. Building on the 50-year legacy of Project Rebound at San Francisco State University, the Institute addresses gaps in housing, employment, education, legal services, and life-skills training. Since 2016, Project Rebound students maintain a 3.0 GPA, achieve a 0% recidivism rate, and see 87% of graduates secure full-time employment or postgraduate admission. The Institute provides a one-stop support model led by staff with lived experience, connects vocational training to post-release employment, and partners with Bay Area law schools and attorneys to expand legal assistance and advance successful community reintegration.
