Kuruwitu Conservation and Welfare Community Base Organization

Kuruwitu Conservation and Welfare Association is a community-based organization established to protect the marine environment and biodiversity along Kenya's Indian Ocean coast. The initiative brings together artisanal fishers and private beach residents from six landing sites within the Kuruwitu-Vipingo area. The organization manages a marine sanctuary that has been protected and now hosts over 200 fish species with incredible biodiversity. Beyond conservation, KCWA supports community welfare through water provision, shelter construction for fishermen, educational programs, and youth empowerment schemes.
