NonprofitAbout
Kayawei Earth bridges Amazonian Indigenous communities and the wider world through sacred reciprocity, cultural exchange, and community empowerment. Co-founded by Txaná Tuwe Huni Kuin, Leah Steiger, and Angeline Chen, our name is rooted in the Huni Kuin prayer Eskawatã Kayawei — calling upon the spirit of healing and transformation for all.
We support Indigenous leaders in sharing their wisdom, prayers, music, and medicines on their own terms, while channeling resources back to the communities and lands that carry these traditions.
Our work moves at the intersection of spiritual and material collaboration: facilitating gatherings, immersions, advocacy, and donor relationships while stewarding Indigenous-led initiatives, including reforestation and agroforestry in the Humaitá Indigenous Territory.
We are guided by the belief that healing is not charity, but relationship. When Indigenous communities thrive with autonomy on their lands.
