Guayaba Colectivo

Guayaba Colectivo is a community-based regeneration initiative rooted in the flooded savannahs of Colombia. Co-mothered by a restoration ecologist and a somatic practitioner, work emerges from the understanding that restoring ecosystems also requires restoring the relationships between bodies and territories. Living within an amphibious landscape undergoing ecological and cultural transformation, we investigate how biodiversity restoration, regenerative land practices, ecosomatic exploration, and environmental education can support regenerative ways of inhabiting the world. Our experience has revealed that environmental degradation is not only ecological, but also perceptual and relational: as ecosystems are transformed, so too are the bodies, cultures, and practices that once belonged to them. Through ecological research, embodied practices, artistic inquiry, and community-based learning, we explore how humans can recover the capacities needed to coexist with living systems.
