About

Fundación Kindicocha is a nonprofit nongovernmental organization created on June 9, 2006 in the Valley of Sibundoy in the Andean zone of the Department of Putumayo in southern Colombia. Kindicocha advances community processes for conservation and sustainable management of Andean-Amazonian biodiversity through applied research, environmental education, eco-business promotion, documentary material production, participatory environmental management, and territorial planning in five municipalities. The organization manages 12 hectares and 1445 integrated species in ecological restoration plots, reforesting with key species of wild Andean-Amazonian ecosystems. Kindicocha operates ecological micro-enterprises producing over 70 health, nutrition, art, and community-use products, while operating an Andean-Amazonian school for well-being and managing six natural reserves for wildlife study and protection.
