Environmental Conservation Community of Tanzania

Environmental Conservation Community of Tanzania (ECCT) is a non-government organization that empowers communities with knowledge and skills to conserve the environment through identifying and capitalizing on opportunities from environmental conservation activities as incentives for local communities to fight environmental pollution and make sustainable social, cultural, and economic choices. ECCT organizes and facilitates tree planting activities, beach and street clean-up events, school outreach programs, and sanitation and hygiene projects in and outside the Dar Es Salaam region. The organization has been declared an Environmental Ambassador of Tanzania. With over 1,200 active volunteers and 75 communities served, ECCT emphasizes community-driven initiatives for environmental stewardship.
