NonprofitAbout
Drylands Agroecology Research (DAR), founded in 2017, is a Boulder County nonprofit. The organization uses grazing, agroforestry, and contour terracing to improve how the land absorbs and holds water, growing food and medicine in perennial systems that build ecological health and community resilience. Over six years, DAR has completed 97 water management and agroforestry projects, planted over 230,000 trees, and now grazes 859 acres across 16 private and public sites. DAR serves Boulder County landowners, farmers, land managers, and the broader public — working to build healthier soils, more reliable water systems, and more resilient food and forage systems across Colorado's Front Range.
