Coordinación Nacional de Pueblos Indígenas de Colombia CONPI

The Coordinación Nacional de Pueblos Indígenas de Colombia - CONPI is a Coordination of authorities, organizations, and leaders of the Indigenous Peoples of Colombia. Founded in 2012, we are members of the National Ethnic Peace Coordination (CENPAZ) and spokespeople for the Special High-Level Instance with Ethnic Peoples (IEANPE), which was created by the 2016 Peace Agreement for the Implementation of the Ethnic Chapter. CONPI works for the defense of territory, culture, and existence of Colombia's indigenous peoples. The organization participated as a third actor in peace negotiations, securing the Ethnic Chapter to ensure implementation of the Peace Agreement responds to the needs of indigenous communities who have historically borne the greatest burdens of war and exclusion. CONPI advocates for territorial defense and the cultural preservation of indigenous nations across Colombia.
