Community Empowerment Agency for Sustainable Development-CEMASUD

CEMASUD was founded in 2009 as the Community Agriculture and Environmental Protection Project (CAEPP) in response to the pressing need for sustainable development in rural areas. The organization is aimed at alleviating acute poverty, food insecurity, environmental degradation and gender-based violence in communities through the promotion of sustainable agriculture, environmental protection, socio-economic empowerment initiatives, and advocacy programs on gender justice. Over the years, the organization has evolved, expanding its focus to encompass various aspects of community empowerment and environmental conservation, and in January 2022, rebranded to CEMASUD to better reflect its mission and broaden its impact.
