Associação Social e Cultural Conceito Arte

Conceito Arte" is a grassroots, community-led organization rooted in the Sarandi neighborhood of Porto Alegre, Brazil. We are an intergenerational collective of neighbors where urban ecology acts as a catalyst for broader community transformation. Over the past few years, our ecological actions have expanded into vital initiatives: we have planted over 350 trees in our public square, continuously expanded our community garden, hosted environmental education workshops, and organized "mutirões" (collective workdays) for planting. This ecological care is deeply intertwined with our cultural work, such as running a book club studying indigenous thinkers like Ailton Krenak, hosting seedling giveaway events, and fundraising to sustain our environmental interventions. Guided by direct community governance, we weave together culture, education, and land regeneration to build a green, resilient urban ecosystem from the ground up.
