A Corujeira

A Corujeira is an off-grid dwelling dedicated to the regenerative arts, rooted in the understanding that human and ecological well-being are synonymous. This land project hosts 5-7 creative and ecologically-minded people at a time, exploring the intersection of creative practice, regenerative land stewardship, and collaborative event production. Located in a secluded valley in the mountains of northern Portugal, the land is on a journey of recovery from wildfires that passed through two decades ago. The project focuses on designing and implementing functional off-grid systems (solar, water, biogas), alongside hands-on carpentry and natural building to expand communal infrastructure. A medicinal herb garden feeds the land's steam ceremonies, where harvested plants meet heat and water as a small, living demonstration that care for the land and care for people are the same practice.
