Updates on The Regen House Commons

Since the previous funding round, we have made good progress towards creating a sustainable water management system, even though we are still in the diagnostic phase.

Here’s an update on how we’ve used the funds so far:

1. Diagnostic Phase We have allocated around one-third of the funds to a thorough diagnostic of the water system, including assessing the tanks, well, and rainwater infrastructure. This evaluation has identified key areas for upgrading efficiency and sustainability.

2. Renovation Planning Based on the diagnostic, we have started planning the upgrades. This includes increasing the efficiency and capacity of the water tanks and improving rainwater collection. We are sourcing sustainable materials and engaging eco-friendly local contractors.

3. Agricultural Impact Despite being mid-upgrade, the initial improvements are already helping us manage water for our vegetable garden more effectively. Preparations for the tree nursery are underway, and we expect the system to soon fully support the nursery’s needs, contributing to biodiversity and agroforestry in the community.

4. Community Engagement We’ve kept local stakeholders informed and formed new partnerships with water management experts to strengthen our approach.

Next Steps

We will soon move into the renovation phase, focused on upgrading the tanks and rainwater system. We are committed to using the remaining funds wisely to ensure the sustainability of Château du Feÿ.
