Amazon Sacred Headwaters Alliance

Cuencas Sagradas is a coalition building a shared vision among Indigenous peoples, NGOs, philanthropic communities, local businesses, and governments toward establishing a protected region in the Amazon. Led primarily by Indigenous organizations including CONFENIAE, AIDESEP, and COICA, the initiative aims to promote Indigenous bioregional governance and management. The organization implements territorial actions promoting intercultural bilingual education, food sovereignty, forest conservation and restoration, and Indigenous economic strengthening, while advancing campaigns and legal actions to halt extractive frontier expansion and defend Indigenous rights and the rights of nature.
