fromtheroots is an East Afrikan autonomous learning and living laboratory calling us back into our full sovereignty as individuals and communities through repairing what was broken through the trauma of colonialism and its afterlives. We bring activists, organisers, artists and other creators of paths outside of dominant systems to engage practices, frameworks, imagination, ceremony and life together so we can together move from awareness of coloniality to living and practising the pluriverse (a world in which many worlds fit). Our approach to regeneration is to value and engage whole persons: body, heart, spirit and mind, in order to reweave the fabric of whole community including relationship with ancestors and the Earth as key members of community. We are based on 10 acres of land in ancestral Maa territory that carries the scars of years of watershed runoff creating deep wide gullies. Our restoration of this land mirrors the restoration of people that is our day to day practice.
