Foundation for a Sustainable Future DBA LivingFuture Foundation

LivingFuture Foundation is a DBA of Foundation for a Sustainable Future, a Delaware private operating foundation working at the intersection of land conservation, food sovereignty, and kinship worldview approaches to cultural renewal. Our work has been rooted at SHO Farm in Vermont since 2003. SHO is a 1,300-acre wildlife refuge in the Green Mountains east of Burlington, Vermont. Led by Melissa Hoffman and Shawn M. Smith, the foundation brings together decades of experience in wild and perennial food systems, global fermentation traditions, conservation planning, and place-based education. We are developing models for kinship-centered conservation, creative housing for sacred land-tending, wild and cultivated foodways, and community resilience that treat reciprocal human presence as an essential part of conservation efforts. Through LivingFuture, we aim to co-create practical, replicable ways for people to live in deeper reciprocity with land, food, and one another.
