Crees Foundation for Manu

Crees Foundation for Manu is a Peruvian non-profit organization dedicated to the education, conservation, and sustainable development of the UNESCO-designated Manu Biosphere Reserve, the world's largest and most biodiverse rainforest reserve. Over two decades, the organization has collaborated with communities and institutions to protect this critical Amazon ecosystem through research, education, and community-driven initiatives. The foundation works to advance understanding and stewardship of one of Earth's most vital and biodiverse natural regions. Crees Foundation has the longest running biodiversity monitoring program in the amazon, covering 15+ years of biodiversity data, encompassing multiple taxa from a single site. We have used this data and field experience to publish over 60 scientific articles, books, and field guides and built domestic Peruvian capacity in biodiversity monitoring and sustainable development.
